Excerpt from Week 1 Day 1

The same power that raised Jesus from the dead fills every believer! When we pray and invite the Holy Spirit to enlighten our eyes to know the hope to which we are called, it changes the way we read our Bibles. We can read with hope! This intimate interaction with the Holy Spirit makes all the difference between reading the Bible in a chore-like manner or academic way and reading it as an interaction with the King of kings and the Lord of lords.

Paul’s prayer for the Ephesians is for them to have hope from the Holy Spirit to see the glorious calling and inheritance they have in Christ. Our hope is in Christ and in his power to save us and work in our lives. People filled with the knowledge and understanding of God’s work in their lives will have faith to trust the Lord to answer those long grocery lists of prayer requests. Whether your prayer is for a child in college, a conflict in a marriage, a financial need, or a future spouse, knowing who you are talking to and his great power, ability, and desire to meet your needs, will increase your faith in the Lord to intervene in the situation. This spiritual revelation and ability to trust God comes from the Holy Spirit.

Ladies, you have to pray for yourself before you can pray for anyone else! Why? It’s like being in an airplane. In case of an emergency, flight attendants always teach you to first put the oxygen mask on yourself, so you can then help your children or friends around you. This is exactly the same concept! You need Christ to enlighten you and strengthen your faith. As you know him more, through every hardship and situation you may face, you will gain confidence in his ability to work in the lives of the people you are praying for. Read Romans 5 for more information about this topic.

Why is it so easy to pray for other people and not for ourselves? Well, perhaps, it comes from the nurturing nature of a woman. This is a God-given ability to put aside our own needs and take on the needs of a child, spouse, or friend.

We are created to propagate the human race. We birth life out of our bodies. When I was a new mom, one of my mother’s lifelong friends called to wish me well on our new arrival. She asked me how nursing was going with my little Ariel. This woman was a leader in a women’s nursing support network. I related to her that we had overcome the initial difficult phase and that Ariel was nursing like a champ. “How are you eating?” she asked. “Um, I’m eating okay, I guess.” I looked at the box of Oreo cookies on the table that I had tapped for my breakfast. I felt a twinge of guilt thinking that my daughter was not getting the nutrition she needed, because I was not eating correctly. To be honest, I did not really know what healthy eating meant. Back in the 90’s, I was most concerned with watching my fat and calorie intake to lose weight after my delivery. I did not quite know how to answer her friendly and caring question because I didn’t know how a new mom was supposed to be eating, anyway.

After a brief pause, I was surprised at her response. I expected her to chide me for depriving my daughter. I only found the opposite. “Briana, be sure to take care of yourself. God designed a mother’s milk to feed the baby everything the baby needs. If you aren’t eating well, your body will take the calcium and protein from your own bones and muscles to make the milk.” I was kind of shocked and set back by her kind and insightful answer. I had no idea that was happening!

As I slowly learned about nutrition, I started to discover that I was eliminating all fats from my diet to stay “skinny.” I did not know I needed healthy Omega fatty acids for healthy joints and skin. I was 25 but starting to feel like I had arthritis. Every time I walked up and down stairs my knees hurt and even had a creaking sound. In the morning, my hands were stiff like I was old. I was nursing my baby and achieving my goal of being skinny, but I was not properly nourishing my own body. The fat my baby needed was coming from my joints and I was aging prematurely. I started adding good fish oil supplements and vitamins to my diet, along with healthy fats and fruits and vegetables. My knees stopped squeaking, my hands stopped aching, and I felt so much better!

As women, whether we are mothers or not, we have a desire to give to and help others. I knew a young college student who would spend hours online chatting with other girls she did not know in person, trying to help them with their emotional issues, but this girl would rarely pray for herself or take care of herself physically, emotionally, or spiritually. The devil had deceived her into thinking that it was selfish to do these things, or even that she did not deserve to do anything nice for herself. That is what the devil does. He takes truth and good tendencies and twists them into lies and deception. We absolutely must learn to feed ourselves first, seek God ourselves, and handle God’s Word ourselves, so we can have an overflow to give to those in our lives who need us the most. Remember, here is a true saying: “For everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that overcomes the world, even our faith. Who is it that overcomes the world? Only the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.” – 1 John 5:4-5

FAITH is our victory to overcome. It is our ability to trust in Jesus and his ability, power and desire to help us to overcome. So, Lord, please increase MY faith. That is my starting point before I pray for others. This is why we are memorizing this prayer.

THE BIBLE VS GMOS~ From Revealed in Ephesians- The Mystery of Who I Am in Christ

“How does this Word food work? In Luke 8:11, Jesus describes the Word as a seed—true raw food eating. You do not get more pure and organic than studying straight from the Bible. Also, God says of his Word, in Isaiah 55:11 NKJV, “It will not return to me empty.” We have all heard about bio-available food. The Word of God is spirit-available! It is ready to be absorbed by your inner “person” as soon as you take it in. So, whether you have time for your perfect quiet time or just a short snack, God will nourish you with His Word. Throw that perfection out the window! You were made for God’s Word. It is your literal sustenance. Just pick it up and start fueling your spirit!

The goal of this study is to help you become more comfortable in reading the straight up non-GMO Bible.
That’s right! Most women know what GMOs are and refuse to buy food that contains them. What are GMOs? Genetically Modified Organisms. A large corporation decides to modify the wheat, corn or other food to be able to produce it in large quantities and to make it look better in order to make more money. Strawberries in the grocery store are now much larger than the ones our grandparents remember eating. The massive chicken breasts we buy in the meat department make one wonder if that bird on steroids looked like Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.”

Now, stick with me here.

While Christian books are very popular with Christian women, and book studies abound, I assert that if you are trying to survive spiritually from what another author has put out there without also being in the Word of God, you are very likely surviving on spiritual GMOs, and not knowing it. Spiritual GMOs can do everything, from under-nourishing you—the powerful faith-building parts are taken out—to withholding important nourishing truth from you—not telling you about spiritually toxic things you need to eliminate from your life by the power of Christ. They sugar coat sin so that it looks acceptable. It is easy to sell books about God when you do not want to talk about sin. Some even introduce destructive and twisted heresies that could completely derail someone’s faith! WOW!

This is NOT a petition to stop doing book studies. This is one woman to another asking you to take a chance to learn to become comfortable feeding yourself and your family straight from the Word of God.
If you have been taking in good spiritual nutrition, you will definitely know when you pick up a book that is a GMO. You spirit will reject the lies, in much the same way a well-fed body reacts strongly to foods that it should not be eating. Also, just like food preparation, the more we learn to cook or bake, the more comfortable we are doing it. The more we study God’s Word, with others or alone, the more comfortable we will be doing it.

You do not have to be perfect. God’s Word is perfect. It is powerful to work in your life just when you need it. Simply trust that God has got you. No fear! His Word is there to fill you up with His love and His truth and to give you power to overcome your greatest fears, girlfriend!THE BIBLE VS GMOS~ From Revealed in Ephesians- The Mystery of Who I Am in Christ

"This book is a must-have for women of all ages interested in going deeper in their study of the Bible. As a senior citizen woman and a seasoned Bible student/teacher, I was amazed at the fresh insights and understanding the Lord revealed as I read through this book. I was especially touched by the Greek word studies and the section on how understanding the life of Queen Esther deepens our understanding and application of being warrior princesses. The memory verses and abundant examples of praying through various scriptures in Ephesians will encourage and transform many. Each day's study ends with practical suggestions for applying that lesson to women's daily lives. I'm grateful for the opportunity to read this book and look forward to using it in the next Bible study I lead at our church."   -DuAnne Thrush, women's ministry council leader, women's Bible study teacher, and worship team member, Crossroads Brethren in Christ Church, State Line, PA

In part 2, Briana shares practical and powerful truths from scripture on how to begin to walk out of anxiety. This is the beginning of a very thorough teaching series from the weekend including how to close open doors of abuse and personal pain that can increase fear and anxiety. Get a paper and pen, because you don’t want to forget these ministry-tested and biblically sound timeless truths to overcoming fear. (Sadly, part 1 on Gideon was not recorded due to a technical glitch. Week 7 – Walking in Truth and Avoiding Deception- How the Body of Christ is designed to keep God’s people from being deceived.

Week 7 Day 1 Today, Briana covers how we can trust our Bible translations. Has the Bible been watered down over the centuries? Briana shares another miracle story where someone followed the Lord’s leading and intervened to save her family from a financially difficult time.
Week 7 Day 4 Find your place in the Body of Christ. Find belonging. You matter! God has a specific call on your life. Discover how Christ leads us out of captivity into belonging and calling. Jesus gifts all of those he sets free. There is no one who is without a purpose. Do you know what God’s purpose for you is?
The Greek in this passage teaches that we each bring something to the party that makes it a LAVISH event. The Body of Christ is full of so much potential. God uses each of us to strengthen each other and to make everything we do together in Christ a LAVISH event. What are you bringing to the party?
Week 7 Day 5 Cleaning out the closet of your heart. Imagine your old wardrobe from 10 years ago, even your favorite jeans or shoes wear out, get too small or need an upgrade! In the same way, we need to make sure we are clothing ourselves with God’s newest fashions for our spirits. Clothe yourself in righteousness. Put off your old self and put on your new self in true righteousness and holiness. Because we are created in God in true righteousness and holiness, we need to put on his ways. Spiritual Warfare Part 2 Practical Spiritual Warfare for Everyday Life. How to pray and get victory in relationship distress and how to pass these skills on to others and your children. Revealed Women’s Conference- Discovering Who I Am in Christ

“What a great time the Lord gave us through Briana Nei as our ladies’ conference speaker on Nov. 3, 2018! As a mother of three, Briana engaged well with women at our conference, a very relatable speaker for all our women–the young moms, single women, grandmothers, widows, and single moms. Women who’ve attended most of our conferences over the past 8 years were overwhelmingly enthusiastic about this speaker being the best we’ve ever had. Briana presented three sessions, taken from Ephesians, followed by small group sharing around questions she’d prepared so that women were interacting with her teaching throughout the day. At the end of the day, she led in a time of prayer response when a number of the ladies came up for specific, personal prayer by Briana and her team and experienced God’s fresh work in their lives. Our ladies were definitely taught, encouraged, and challenged in their understanding of their identity in Christ. We look forward to using her book on Ephesians in our ladies Bible studies in the future and would definitely invite her to speak at our conference again.”
